3 x prints of Roses by Walter Fitch 1888
These scarce chromolithographs of roses produced by Georges Severeyns from an illustration by Walter H. Fitch are from The Rose Garden in two divisions by William Paul. Published by Kent & Co, London 1888. The illustrations for this edition were drawn by Walter Fitch, the famous artist who illustrated Curtis’ ‘Botanical Magazine’ for many years. The roses illustrated are beautiful and have such depth on the page, they are a delight to behold, and the text provides a wealth of information on all aspects of rose cultivation and exhibiting. William Paul was a skilled horticulturist and writer whose talents were discovered early on by J.C. Loudon, a prominent horticulturalist and garden planner of the day.
