The engravings were either by Jacobus Houbraken and George Vertue after Holbein, Kneller, Van Dyck et al.
These copper-engraved plates are by Vertue and are accompanied by a short history and biography of the figure.
This lot comprises engravings of Robert Boyle, William Warham (Archbishop of Canterbury) and John Locke.
