These original antique prints of 1. Greater Horse-shoe Bat & Lesser Horse-shoe Bat and 2. Barbastelle & Long-eared Bat are from British Mammals by Archibald Thorburn. Published by Longmans, Green and Co. 39 Paternoster Row, London, 1920.

These chromolithographs are after paintings by the Scottish artist Archibald Thorburn and are on heavy stock paper. Thorburn was one of the most prolific and respected illustrators of the natural world at the end of the 19th and turn of the 20th century.
