This original hand-coloured floral print of Oak and Cedar is from The Flowers of Milton by Jane Elizabeth Giraud, Published privately, Faversham, 1846.

This print is beautifully illustrated and is accompanied by a quotation from Milton’s Paradise Regained – Book 1, Line 305.

Each print has the identifier ‘J.E.G. del et lith’, and all were printed by Day & Haghe, lithographers to the Queen.

This charming Victorian work of delightful floral bouquets is now very scarce. Each print was brilliantly hand-coloured and then highlighted with gum Arabic.

Size: Approximately 9.5in x 12in (24cm x 30cm) with the paper very slightly creamy and the colours very vivid.

Condition: The print is in excellent condition – please inspect the image carefully as it is very accurate.
