East Indies by FP Becker 1856
Interesting antique map of East Indies c1856, from India in the west, to Borneo in the east, and China in the north by F.P. Becker.
Engraved by the omnigraph by Francis Paul Becker & Company with contemporary hand colour (from the time of publication) outlining the coastline of the countries and differentiating adjoining countries.
Becker spent many years on his invention of the omnigraph which allowed inserting names in an engraved plate without the necessity of placing each individual letter, thus saving much time in creating the plate for the printing of the map.
Size: 9.5in x 8.5in (24.5cm x 21.7cm)
Condition: The print is in excellent condition but please inspect the image carefully as it is very accurate.
