These beautiful prints are from the first edition of the Histoire Naturelle des Oiseaux Exotiques by Florent Prevost and Charles Lemaire. Published by Pauquet, Paris, 1836.
The engravers for this work were the brothers, Hippolyte and Polydore Pauquet. The brilliant hand-coloured plates show exotic birds such as parrots, birds of paradise, hummingbirds etc in all their natural splendour.
