These engravings are from Dictionnaire Pittoresque d’Histoire Naturelle Et Des Phenomenes De La Nature, by Felix Edward Guerin-Meneville, published in Paris 1836-1839.
These highly decorative plates were hand coloured and are an eclectic collection of curious and wonderful images of birds, fishes, insects, fruits and flowers.
