The full details of the composition of this plate are: 1. Plan des Pyramides de Gizeh 2. Elevation et Coupe de la Grande Pyramide dite Le Cheops. The first member of the French National Institute to visit Upper Egypt and report his discoveries was Denon.
The remarkable plates which illustrate this work, described in detail in the accompanying text, are of great importance to Egyptology as they illustrate for the first time many new discoveries.
