This antique print is entitled The Pyramid of Skulls at Djerba Tunisia drawn by Thomas Allom after Sir Grenville Temple and engraved by E Benjamin.
The Ottomans erected a pyramid of skulls of the defeated Spanish defenders, which stood until the late nineteenth century.
